    Burgers and beers: a prime example of a true American meal.

    Burger King is blending two of America’s favorite taste and serving it up in a matter of minutes. Next month, Burger King plans to open a Whopper Bar in sexy South Beach Miami, Fla. Those in Germany, Singapore, and Venezuela have been enjoying the combination since summer 2009. The Florida location serves as a test-run for the American Whopper Bar franchise. If all goes well, BK plans to launch the next Whopper Bars in Las Vegas, New York City and Los Angeles.

    The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, located at 130 North Tryon Street, will host exciting Kids’ Night activities for six upcoming shows this winter. These special events are a wonderful way to permit children ages 14 and younger the chance to enjoy the upscale nightlife that the Queen City has to offer. The Center allows children to become actively engaged in the Charlotte art scene.

This year’s gala will take place the evening of December 1, 2009 at the elegant Palmer Building (2601 East Seventh Street near Uptown Charlotte) from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The night will feature an awards ceremony where author DeVondia Roseborough will be honored for her fearless commitment to community activism with the inaugural “Red Pump Award.” Roseborough is the author of “Put it on Paper,” a nonfiction memoir describing her life before HIV and after AIDS, and founder of The Rasberrirose Foundation, a 501c (3) nonprofit organization whose focus is to minister to teenage girls aged 10-18, struggling from self-esteem, with a focus on HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness.

Foundation, Inc. have partnered with Carolina Family Alliance, Inc. to encourage children to prosper and understand there is a life without violence. This event will allow these children to be free and enjoy the gift of life…Laughter!

    Free Skate Party will be offered from Noon-2 p.m. on Friday, November 27th, 2009. Starlight Roller Rink is located at 8830 E w T Harris Blvd, Charlotte.

    This Free Roller-skating party offered to the first one hundred children residing in Shelters, Foster Care Agencies, DSS, Mental Health agencies or involvement with local Domestic Violence Agencies. This is an effort to bring smiles to the children affected by domestic violence, homelessness and troubled families.

    (CHARLOTTE, NC) November 16, 2009 – The E Modeling Agency of Charlotte is set to host a Launch Party this Friday night at the Suite Nightclub in Uptown, Charlotte. The music and models event will raise money for a good cause as the proceeds from the event will go to Amped-4-A-Cure, a group dedicated to raising funds to support cancer research through the universal language of music.

    The elegant Suite Nightclub is located at 210 East Trade Street in the trendy EpiCentre. Doors open at 9:00 p.m. and a large, distinguished guest list are expected to attend. The E Modeling Agency, hosts of the event, hope to bring awareness to a good cause, as well as shining some light on some elegant models, great entertainment and musical acts.

    Charlotte, NC (November 16, 2009) – To Serve With Love Ministries, Inc. will host its Inaugural Gospel Benefit Concert on Friday, November 20, 2009 during National Homelessness Awareness Week. The concert begins at 7pm and will be held at ALIVE located at 2909 N. Davidson Street, Charlotte, NC 28205.     The Gospel Benefit Concert includes performances by local Gospel artists - Patrick Love, Tawanda Robbins, Voices of Hope Recovery Choir and Adoration.

    Patrick Love, a native of Charlotte, NC, is the founder of “Wind of the Spirit Music & Arts Fellowship” and is also the founder and director of the groups “Spirit of David” and “RUACH.” Patrick received the GMWA “Song of the Year” in 1998, for “He’s a Keeper” recorded by Rodney Bryant and CCMC. “He’s a Keeper” was also nominated for the 1998 Soul Train Music Award “Song the Year.”

    Tawanda Robbins, a native of Charlotte, NC, is an anointed psalmist and gifted songwriter; who recently released her debut recording- Intimate with God’s Spirit under independent music label TL Music Group, LLC. Tawanda has traveled the country with a mission to charge the atmosphere with the undiluted richness of the word of God and ignite a release of relationship with God throughout the world.     Voices of Hope Recovery Choir, Inc. was founded on September 11, 1999 in Charlotte, NC by Michael Harris, Steve Humphrey and Sylvester Pankey. The 23 member choir travels to churches, detoxification centers, shelters, treatment centers and businesses. Voice of Hope Recovery Choir has made over 850 appearances.
    Adoration was formed in June of 2008 in Charlotte, NC. Today, Adoration consists of six members: Tomekya Johnson and Maria Baker, BJ Greene, Vassie Lloyd, Christina Richardson, and Sherrii Webb. All of the members of the group, including the managers and music director are members of Chappell Memorial Baptist Church.

  • Are You a Woman Who Jams? NABFEME Charlotte Seeks Hot Female Artists for Talent Showcase

    CHARLOTTE, NC-October 14, 2009- The Charlotte Network of The National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment (NABFEME) will hold auditions for its next “Women Who Jam” concert on October 27, 2009 at PJ’s Coffee & Lounge from 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. NABFEME Charlotte is seeking the best and brightest female independent artists in the Greater Charlotte Metropolitan area to grace the stage.

    “Women Who Jam” is one of NABFEME Charlotte’s signature events and serves to highlight female music artists in an entertaining and supportive atmosphere. Those interested in auditioning for the main show are asked to bring a photo, bio or press kit, and be prepared to sing a one to two- minute selection of their choosing a cappella. The actual “Women Who Jam” concert will occur on Thursday, November 12, 2009. The location will be announced at a later date.

    In addition to providing a viable platform for the artists to showcase their talents, NABFEME Charlotte will be accepting donations for Amped 4-A-Cure, an initiative providing support to cancer research through the universal language of music. Can goods and other non perishable items will also be collected for those in need.

    PJ’s Coffee & Lounge is located at 210 East Trade Street on the first floor of the EpiCentre in Uptown Charlotte. Admission is free and open to the public.
