How many times have you walked out of the club and approached your car to find all those D*MN fliers hanging off of your window? If you have been to Charlotte NC, you know what I am talking about! Promoters here, Promoters there, I tell you they are everywhere!!! They come in all forms, from the college kid trying to make a name for himself on campus, to the established promoter who is now a business owner. Charlotte NC, offers a variety of entertainment for everyone, from the young at heart, to the Grown and Sexy.
Promoters have been the pulse that pumps through Charlotte’s nightlife ever since the 80’s. If it wasn’t for the hustle of street promoter a lot of Venue’s could not have stayed afloat. Tom -Tom Production’s took promotions to another level in the 80’s and 90’s by turning his neighborhood into a straight street party. Promoting event’s that made people crave for the next ‘flier that had Tom -Tom’s name one it. This college kid who had a dream made the word “Party “a way of life. Venues such as “Party Zone, City lights and Streetlights will forever be remembered because of the tattoo that was sketched at the door that read “Party by Tom -Tom “
Time waits for no one and that includes the Party scene. The Swagger of the late 90’s began to creep into everyone’s veins, with the laid back swag of Club 2000 and pulsating lyrics of Biggie, telling everyone to give him “One more chance”

The years may have changed, but that paper trail that lead its way to your car still remained the same. …Those da*n fliers still said hello every time you placed your keys into the door, however now the venom that was running through your veins wasn’t Cisco, but it was Moet or Don. Yeah we all remember those days when you and your friends could get a bottle of Strawberry Cisco for $5 dollars and be good for the rest of the night, wow how times have changed. The florescent socks and Herringbone chains were now replaced with Versace and Gucci apparel .The songs that flooded through the speakers had us all thinking we were Nino Brown or Foxy…..rocking all that ” I’ll Na Na ”

As the clock struck twelve and the new millennium was knocking at our door a new Era of partying had begun. The days of the Wop, Smurf and Cabbage Patch had been replaced with the “Lean Back “. It was no longer expectable to go out and dance, the” Swag “had invaded the club scene. Partying had become about the way you walk and talk and the confidence you generated.

Vanilla Ice may have made ” Ice Ice Baby a household name ,but Black Ice made the word Ice a way of Life! . Dee Autry and Black Ice have taken Charlotte by storm with their variety of “Swag ” .You can get crunk at the club by stepping in to “Club Ice “formerly known as Crush or get your networking on at ” First Friday ” with the collaboration of Troy Veal, Thomas Washington and of course Dee Autry. The sky is the limit when it comes to Black Ice and their buffet of swag. Black Ice took promotions to another level by becoming Entrepreneurs in 2009, with the opening of Club Ice located in the heart of downtown Charlotte. They had a blueprint to success and made it a reality!

Black Ice’s vision for success was planned and executed, however they were not alone. The super duo that has flooded Charlotte’s club scene like a tsunami goes by the name of Adolph Shiver and Orlando Ferrarer. Charlotte has long been known as baby Atlanta but with the collaboration of these two masterminds and entrepreneurs we will go down in history as the City with the “Ultimate Swag”.

Adolph L. Shiver hit the scene and clubbing has been taken to another level. Club LA. Inc and V on the 4th incorporated partying with the who’s who of the VIP scene. Very Important Professional graced the walls from, Athletes to Hip-Hop Artist and who every else had enough money and influence to keep up. Money generates money and whether it is made in the street or Corporate America the clubs are always going to have a place for them.

Big O aka Orlando embraced the club scene with H2O and Studio 74 giving Charlotte NC. a taste of the” Crunk Swag “. If you were an up and coming artist Studio 74 was the place to be. Orlando gave you the opportunity to showcase your talent with open mic night. You could Pop Bottles and spit Lyrics and occasionally rub elbows with the likes of Jagged Edge, Yung Joc and many other Hip Hop and R&B influences. It was only a matter of time before the best of both worlds came together and gave birth to” 935 the Red Room “.

With the talent and imagination that Charlotte has been blessed with, the sky is the limit. A blueprint and strong desire to succeed is what has put Charlotte on the map. The promoters that littered our cars with their dreams have given us the opportunity to grow and enjoy our past, present and who knows what the future has to bring!
